The primary focus of the talk will be main memory security (DRAM + emerging NVRAM) from an micro-architectural standpoint. It will contain an overview of the threat landscape in terms of confidentiality and integrity issues for these memories and state-of-the-art solutions to mitigate these threats. As for the security solutions, the talk would highlight hardware-based memory encryption, authentication, and access pattern obfuscation techniques. Joydeep will also delve into his PhD thesis work which spans efficient memory authentication and access pattern obfuscation.
